Our Mission
The Australian Creative Arts Therapy Association (ACATA) is a national, non-profit organisation that maintains professional standards for the practise of creative arts therapy. ACATA provides professional representation, support and communication networks for its members. ACATA aims to forge links between creative arts therapists and the broader community.
Professionalism
Professional members of ACATA are qualified to a minimum of Masters level in Creative Arts Therapy. Education includes research within the field of Creative Arts Therapy, and supervised working experience as a creative arts therapist within institutions, agencies and relevant workplaces. Supervision, professional development and ACATA’s Code of Ethical Conduct are essential to the practise of creative arts therapy by ACATA’s Members.
